Game wise, this would only allow for the RK to free up their Ranged slot.

The only thing that makes sense to me (and I've suggested it before) was that the RK's riffler or chisel be moved to the off-hand. Runestone Keeper is a challenging roguelike to roguelite dungeon crawler that blends classic role playing elements and turn-based combat strategy. You don't write in a book in one hand with a book you hold in the other hand. A runestone is sort of like a book you'd write in. Mechanically it doesn't make a lot of sense (the Runestone type you have dictates a lot of what your skills do, so what would the game do if you had two different stones?).Ĭonceptually it doesn't make a lot of sense, either. but to be perfectly honest, appealing to an argument that only Lotro Fossils that are terrified of change don't think this is a good idea doesn't hold a lot of water for me. I'm not sure how long a person has to have been playing to be considered "an old player," I might qualify? Maybe? Moses style."Įveryone thought this was hilarious, because of how I'm obviously channeling the ridiculous. I recently said that if I were an RK I would "dual wield. As far as I know, there is no other way to obtain those recipes. Once you are artisan of the jewellers' guild, the legendary recipe vendor in their guild hall will sell you recipes for legendary runestones and Champion's runes.

(Yes, I do realize that LMs can use a two-handed staff plus an off-hand sword, but that ability originally required a legendary trait to begin with.)Īs far as crafted runestones go: you can craft legendary runestones, but you need to reach at least artisan rank with the jewellers' guild (not artisan jeweller crafting ability, but supreme IIRC). Captains be allowed to use an off-hand weapon in addition to their halberd without a closer look at the stats. (Not saying this shouldn't happen, but I wanted to point this out because people seem to tend to forget.) Runestones are currently set up as two-handed weapons stats-wise and noone would ask to have e.g. If RKs got an off-hand weapon, the current runestones would need to be re-balanced. Does anyone even use a regular crafted stone in place of a legendary ? What I don't understand then is why you can keep on creating new stones past 50 with a Jeweller. the extra boost to certain stats would be useful for certain. Demo v1.0 is released Runestone Keeper is a roguelike, turn based dungeon crawler featuring old-school RPG elements. I don't see anything wrong with having an off hand stone.
